The Destination Worthy of the Voyage
After relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Jezera Croatia
for 3 days, it was time for us to move on to our next destination Budapest.
Yesterday we woke up early and made the one hour drive from Jezera to Zadar. In
Zadar we boarded a bus to Zagreb. This bus trip is extremely scenic and
relatively short, ~3 hours. We were extremely lucky to have just caught the 7am
bus, since this left us of plenty of time to explore Zagreb.
We arrived in Zagreb at 10am and had 5 hours until we had to
board our next train for Budapest. Exploring Zagreb was amazing. After having
spent the last 3 days in a city with a population of 400, it was great to be
back in a large city. Zagreb itself had a large metropolitan feel and was jam
packed with activity. We had time to grab a nice meal and explore some of the
churches and other historic sites across the city.
Having finished in Zagreb we boarded our 6 hour train from
Zagreb to Budapest. The train was extremely nice, with individual sitting rooms
(each with 6 seats). We were able to even sneak into first class for 3 hours,
until getting kicked out at the Hungarian boarder.
Derek managed to by the wrong playing cards (with weird Croatian
characters and only 33 cards). So I had to spent 30 minutes redoing the cards
to something we can play with. All is well, that ends well.
We are now in Budapest and safely checked into the hotel.
But that will be a separate blog post. Also, Tyler will soon post about “Banding
and Bronzing” across Europe, though I’m still not sure what either of those
are.
